A Global Brand
Jeanneau has branched out throughout the world, manufacturing its familiar brand in an array of different countries. Thanks to outward thinking, they have taken many opportunities to work alongside other leading names, such as the Italian company Ferretti Craft. A great example of their ingenuity was the innovative trimaran boats they created specifically for the film Waterworld starring Kevin Costner.
Cutting-edge Design
The Jeanneau design team utilises cutting-edge computer-aided design and manufacturing experience to craft a luxurious and solidly engineered range of boats and yachts. Their skilled craftsmen have exceeded the standards with over sixty years of experience and developed cutting-edge craft. In 1956, M. Henri Jeanneau began building in his father’s workshop following his success in the “Six Heures De Paris” powerboat race. He founded a company that specialised in the build of small wooden outboard-powered boats. Two years later, he built their first fibreglass hull moulded boat. By 1960 fibreglass was in full production with the “Calanque” speedboat launch.
The early years of Production
By 1970 the first of the Sangria sailing yachts were produced in Les Herbiers, France. The factory concentrated primarily on building fibreglass sailing yachts, sold to Bangor Punta, then later to Chatellier Industry. In late 1995, an asset purchase of Jeanneau by the other French giant, Group Beneteau. Today Group Beneteau is simply the most extensive boat manufacturer to ever exist.

Though Jeanneau is now owned by Group Beneteau, who own many other organisations, Jeanneau remains an independent brand with separate production facilities and distribution networks. In 2006 Jeanneau celebrated 50 years in the industry and then in 2009 announced a total re-branding of the range with the introduction of the Yacht and Prestige brands.
